The Company was founded in location Contarina (about 20 km from Rovigo) in 1921 as a pioneering investment under the name of “Detersificio Polesano”. At first the plant consisted of just a few rooms where laundry washing products were manufactured. Later on the name was changed in “Esoform spa Laboratorio Chimico Farmaceutico” and the Company became a top leader in its field, guided by the Giulio Cesare Guarniero who here following tells out about the origins of this family Business.
“My grandparents, in particular my grandmother, moved the first steps in the business. In 1921 they founded the “Detersificio Polesano” in the province of Rovigo, on the delta of the PO river and began to produce laundry detergents and soaps, an activity which continued until the Second World War. Then, in 1946, my father Idelmo decided to move the company headquarters to Rovigo and named it Laboratorio Chimico Polesano. In those years the production was diversified in cleaning and disinfection, adding a line of disinfectants specially designed for the delicate hospital sector and the public hygiene".

Esoform, the story ...
1980 – ESOFORM begins the production of contact lens care solutions also as third party manufacturer.
1995 - Esoform is the first company in Italy in the disinfection sector to get the Quality Certification by the Certifying Body TÜV of Munich. In the same year we also obtain the authorization to design and produce “Medicinal Preparations” (drugs), “Presidi Medico- Chirurgici” (Biocides) and Medical Devices with our own “CE” Mark.
From this important step the Ophthalmic Division is hugely strengthened. We deal with the production, sales and marketing of products for contact lens care and maintenance. A dedicated line of solutions for the disinfection, rinsing, cleaning, lubrication of soft and RGP contact lenses, as well as special eye drops to give more comfort to contact lens wearers are created. Thanks to its quality and operational flexibility, Esoform has affirmed its position as a leader in this sector, both on the Italian and international markets.

1999 - Acquisition of the neighboring area with almost doubling of the surface.
2005 – A new computer-controlled automated warehouse is built.
2009 – Esoform gets both the UNI EN ISO 14001 Certification and the GMP Certificate for its own internal analysis laboratory.
2011 - The company is acquired by an important American Global Corporation, world leader in the field of cleaning, disinfection, hospital products and water processing. A lot of investments in terms of safety are implemented on the manufacturing site to adequate it to the American highest standards of security in product manufacturing.
